Can I access the user interface also via HTTPS?

Yes, you can. If you do a first installation of the Connector with a version greater than 2.7.4, HTTPS is enabled by default. If you however have an installation of a previous version, you should follow the instruction below to activate HTTPS access:

   1-Stop the service (script stop-service.bat or stop-daemon.sh, for Windows or Linux installation)

   2-Edit the file “…/tomcat…/conf/server.xml”

   3-Locate the segment

               This connector uses the JSSE configuration, when using APR, the

               connector should be using the OpenSSL style configuration

               described in the APR documentation -->

   4-After the above lines add the following (we presume that you have chosen the 8443 port in the Connector’s setup):

        <Connector port="8443" protocol="HTTP/1.1" SSLEnabled="true"

               maxThreads="150" scheme="https" secure="true"

               clientAuth="false" sslProtocol="TLS"

   keystorePass="autogration" truststorePass="autogration"

               keystoreFile="../csc-keystore.jks" truststoreFile="../csc-truststore.jks"/>

   5-Start the service (script start-service.bat or start-daemon.sh, for Windows or Linux installation)

 

Now you can try the user interface: first the link http://localhost:8080/autogration (usual HTTP access) and then https://localhost:8443/autogration (HTTPS access).

This should be enough for you to have HTTPS access to the user interface. However, please keep in mind that the browser will always ask you if you accept the certificate embedded in the Connector (this is not a certificate that comes with the browsers own keystore, that’s why the browser asks you that question).
