The project is organised in five work-packages, two of which (WP1 - Project Management and WP5 - Awareness and Dissemination) are transversal, whilst the other three are designed to accomplish specific tasks each building on the results of the previous one:

  • WP1 - Project Management (01/2010 - 12/2011): general management and coordination of the entire project, including planning and scheduling of tasks, reporting, meeting organisation, work validation, and contact with the EC, as well as with other projects and/or organisations deemed of interest to auto-gration.

  • WP 2 – Analysis of eBusiness Adoption (01/2010 - 06/2010): performing analysis of the current situation regarding eBusiness adoption in the automotive sector, to serve as a foundation for the work of the following work-packages. The analysis includes studying the eBusiness adoption along the entire automotive supply chain (OEM, upstream tiers 1 / 2 / 3 and downstream aftermarket), relevant standardisation work, and identifying interoperability problems and other obstacles to market harmonisation.

  • WP 3 – Auto-gration Architecture (03/2010 - 12/2011): development of the auto-gration Architecture that will allow the exchange of data between currently non-compatible systems. Work includes the development of business process models based on the finding of WP 2's report, the definition of data exchange models and messages, and specification of other technical issues (identification, security, and transport) that together define the auto-gration Architecture.

  • WP 4 – Early Adopter Programme (04/2010 - 12/2011): validation of auto-gration Architecture by implementing and deploying it in volunteer automotive organisations to be used under real life conditions. The validation includes securing a number of Early Adopters to test the auto-gration prototypes, the running of these prototypes in these organisations, and the collection of feedback data to improve and validate the Architecture.

  • WP 5 - Awareness and Dissemination (01/2010 - 12/2011): dissemination of the project activities to both attract organisations to participate in it, and to encourage adoption of auto-gration Architecture. Some of the planned actions include the organisation of a large dissemination conference at the end of the project, the development and publishing of a Guide to eBusiness, and the signing by the industry's key stakeholders of a Memorandum of Understanding stating their intention to adopt auto-gration.
