Objectives
|
The main aim of the auto-gration project is to create a way for organisations of all sizes throughout the European automotive supply chain to exchange eBusiness data seamlessly, regardless of their locally installed digital infrastructure. To achieve this, the vision of the project is to develop a data exchange architecture that will accept data from mutually incompatible messaging systems and transform them in such a way as to allow universal communication. |

Once this exchange architecture is defined it will be implemented and validated under real world conditions and its adoption will be promoted among the industry's key eBusiness stakeholders, including Vehicle Manufacturers, Tier1 suppliers, ERP vendors, and B2B service providers, a process fully backed by the European Commission (EC). The final outcome of the auto-gration project will be an inter-operational environment where automotive eBusiness can be effected seamlessly over the installed infrastructure at either end of the communication exchange. |
The objectives of the auto-gration project are:
-
To develop an overall sectoral collaborative architecture (auto-gration Architecture) of business processes and data exchange models, in order to achieve interoperability at cross-border level all over Europe.
-
To implement and demonstrate the feasibility of the auto-gration Architecture by running an Early Adopter Programme with companies located at different levels of the automotive value chain in order to assess its performance under real life conditions.
-
To encourage the adoption of the auto-gration Architecture throughout the industry via a wide range of communication and dissemination actions, culminating in a large end-of-project workshop and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding by the sector's main stakeholders expressing their support for auto-gration.
