Odette International


Description: Odette International is a non-profit organisation formed by the automotive industry for the automotive industry. It sets the standards for e-business communications, engineering data exchange and logistics management. Over the past 25 years Odette has built an international reputation for its work on the standardisation of containers, bar-coded labels, OFTP and, above all, its EDI messages. More recently the organisation has been involved in logistics performance assessment tools, logistics KPIs, RFID recommendations for returnable containers and vehicle distribution, B2B Security issues and many more.

Odette’s mission in the global automotive industry is to develop tools and recommendations that improve the flow of goods, services, product data and business information across the whole supply chain, throughout the entire product life-cycle. Its main areas of activity are:

  • Full exploitation of the e-business revolution through the development of tools, standards and recommendations to support B2B communications;

  • Optimisation of common B2B business processes in the whole value chain;

  • Improvement of supply chain logistics;

  • Promotion of high quality engineering data exchange (including CAD/CAM and PDM) across the entire industry.

 

Project functions: Odette is the project leader (workpackage 1 - General Project Management), being responsible for the management and coordination of all partner activities. In addition it is the leader of workpackage 2 (Analysis of eBusiness Adoption), coordinating and participating in the tasks related to the eBusiness adoption report. Odette also has an active participation in other project tasks, such as those related to the Reference Architecture definition, pilot deployment and dissemination.

BOOST

BOOST

 

Description: BOOST is an international consultancy firm for businesses, public bodies and clusters, specialising in assistance for designing and implementing e-business architectures, new processes and digital collaboration tools for the extended enterprise. Its expertise consists of boosting innovation and competitiveness by digital means.

BOOST’s main partners are active members of international standardisation bodies in the area of supply-chain and product manufacturing, at AFNOR, CEN, UN-CEFACT and ISO. The organisation has a great experience in aeronautic and other industrial sectors’ supply chains, such as electronics, defence, and automotive.

Project functions: BOOST is the leader of workpackage 3 (Collaborative Reference Architecture), being the partner responsible for the development of the Reference Architecture. As such BOOST is also heavily involved in the latter’s deployment performed in workpackage 4 (Pilot Prototypes).

 CECRA

CECRA

 

Description: CECRA, the European Council for Motor Trades and Repairs, is a European federation composed of 27 national professional associations representing the interests of the motor trade and repair businesses, and 14 European Dealer Councils, on behalf of vehicle dealers for specific makers. The organisation was founded in 1983 on the initiative of representatives of motor trade association from Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. Since then the following countries have also become members: Austria, Finland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia. Iceland, Israel and Russia are observer members. The Turkish association OYDER is an intending member since 2006.

CECRA is composed of professional national member organisations in the sector of distribution, maintenance and repair of vehicles, industrial vehicles and motorcycles together with ancillary activities in the retail motor industry in the countries which make up the European Union. It also represents all fuel retailers within the European Union.

Project functions: With its vast network of contacts, CECRA will be involved in the pilot deployment tasks performed in workpackage 4 (Pilot Prototypes) and in the project dissemination activities.

CLEPA

CLEPA

 

Description: CLEPA, the European Association of Automotive Suppliers, aims to promote, defend and represent the general interests of the motor equipment and parts industry internationally. To achieve this aim, CLEPA seeks to coordinate views and opinion regarding all the problems facing the industry, both in the technical and the economic fields, to ensure harmonious development of international trade, especially through the lifting of technical barriers.

Since automotive suppliers account for about 75% of the vehicle industry’s final product value and are responsible for about 50% of the research and development in the sector, the over 3000 member companies of CLEPA play a central role in adapting the automotive industry to the sweeping changes brought on by the double processes of globalisation and technological development.

Project functions: CLEPA is the leader of workpackage 4 (Pilot Prototypes), being the one responsible for the management and coordination of all partner activities in it. The organisation also participates in project tasks where its vast network of contacts in the automotive industry plays a major role, such as those related to the collecting of data for the eBusiness adoption report and Reference Architecture definition, and dissemination activities.

 Inova+ 

INOVA+

 

Description: Inova+ is a part of the INNOVA Group, one of the leading private European consultancy groups in innovation, with offices in Belgium, Portugal, Luxembourg, France, USA, Poland, Italy and the Czech Republic. Inova+ delivers highly specialised services in research exploitation, technology transfer and innovation management. The main activities are connected to programmes of the European Union related to Research, Regional and National Structural Development, Technological Development and Innovation. Inova+ provides businesses and public authorities with a wide range of highly specialised and tailor-made consultancy services within three main areas of expertise:

  • Innovation policies and RTD studies;
  • Project management for Innovation and RTD related projects;
  • Consultancy services.


Project functions: Inova+ is the leader of workpackage 5 (Awareness and Dissemination), being responsible for the project’s dissemination activities. Its other main activity is to provide support in the management of the other workpackages, primarily workpackage 1 (General Project Management). In addition Inova+ is heavily involved in other tasks, such as the eBusiness adoption report, Reference Architecture definition, and pilot deployment.

Description: FIGIEFA represents the interests of 26 national trade associations of automotive aftermarket distributors from 23 countries worldwide.

FIGIEFA promotes the existence of an independent automotive aftermarket able to provide competitive replacement parts for motor vehicles as well as repair and service throughout Europe. The independent automotive aftermarket – and its independent distribution system of replacement parts - represents a sound and efficient supply and repair alternative for consumers and garages. The independent automotive aftermarket thus sustains service diversity and prices subject to competition for the consumer – and hence contributes to guarantee the driver’s mobility.

Project functions: FIGIEFA will participate in developing the Collaborative Reference Architecture and will be involved in the latter’s deployment performed in workpackage 4 (Pilot Prototypes). Through its network it will also support the project dissemination activities.

Galia

Galia

 

Description: Galia is a French industry consortium that defines standards for e-business communications, engineering data exchange, and logistics management created in 1984 by and for the automotive industry. A member of the Europe-wide standards organisation Odette International, Galia provides a collaborative framework within which automotive OEMs, suppliers and solution providers can work together to improve vehicle development processes.

Galia's mission fits into a context of strategic development of international installations and of competitiveness and reliability of French automakers and suppliers. Its working domains are: logistics, engineering, and electronic commerce.

Project functions: Galia will provide support for Odette’s activities in the French automotive industry area, such as collecting data for the eBusiness adoption report and pilot deployment.

INESC Porto

 

Description: INESC Porto is a research institution working as an interface between the academic world and the industrial and service companies, as well as government organisations. It participated in the similar eBIZ-TCF project, an European Commission contracted project to create a Reference Architecture for e-business processes in the supply chain of the Textile/Clothing and Footwear (TCF) Industries.

Project functions: INESC Porto will be involved in several tasks where its previous experience on the similar eBIZ-TCF project will be more valuable. These include the creation of the eBusiness adoption report, the definition of the Reference Architecture, and the deployment of the pilots.

Odette Sweden

 

Description: Odette Sweden represents Scandinavia’s automotive companies in Odette International, as well as in SASIG, (the Strategic Automotive product data Standards Industry Group).

Project functions: Odette Sweden will provide support for Odette’s activities in the Sweden automotive industry area, such as collecting data for the eBusiness adoption report and pilot deployment.

SupplyOn

SupplyOn

 

Description: SupplyOn, is one of the world’s largest providers of web-based services for supply chain management in the automotive and manufacturing industry, particularly in the upstream area. SupplyOn technology is also used in other industries such as European aerospace industry.

Project functions: SupplyOn’s main role will be the creation of the pilots software and its feedback to the project. The organisation will also be involved in a consultant capacity in the definition of the Reference Architecture.

Description: TecCom is the manufacturer and operator of the leading Business2Business platform in the international automotive aftermarket. Its solutions allow organisations in the supply chain to exchange electronic data in a standard way, independent of existing IT structures.

Project functions: TecCom’s main role will be the creation of the pilots software and its feedback to the project. The organisation will also be involved in a consultant capacity in the definition of the Reference Architecture.
