The Project
|
SMEs wishing to trade with larger partners in the automotive supply-chain are usually expected to use an EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) system that is acceptable to (or even dictated by) the larger partner. There are, however, many different EDI systems in existence, making it very difficult and costly for SMEs who wish to trade with multiple partners. The auto-gration project aims to improve the integration of SMEs in global digital automotive supply chains by developing an auto-gration Architecture for electronic data exchange, and promoting its adoption by the industry’s key players. This European Commission-backed initiative has the potential to unify the automotive eBusiness market, greatly reducing costs and increasing the competitiveness of organisations along the supply chain. |

The auto-gration project was designed, proposed and is currently being executed by a consortium of key organisations from the automotive sector with extensive experience in standardisation, eBusiness work, and European projects including: Odette International, BOOST, CECRA, CLEPA, Inova+, COVISINT, FIGIEFA, GALIA, INESC Porto, Odette Sweden, SupplyOn, and TecCom. Together these organisations have both the business and technical expertise to develop an effective solution, the market knowledge to guarantee that the solution is attractive to automotive companies, and the contact networks to promote the solution to the industry. |
